Seniors Build Friendships on Annual Class Trip

By: Taylor Mills, Shield Editor

The senior class had their annual class trip to Orlando, Florida, on Sept. 10. Starting off the trip with a lengthy bus ride and a stop at Buc-ee’s in Florence, South Carolina, the students headed to Disney Springs at the Walt Disney Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, for some shopping and dinner.

Over the next two days, the class got to experience the thrilling rides at Universal Studios and the happiness of Disney’s Magic Kingdom. On Friday, the seniors stopped to explore the exhibits and displays that Kennedy Space Center had to offer before heading back to Raleigh.

“My favorite part of the senior field trip was going on Space Mountain five times with my friends and getting to go to Buc-ee's twice,” Avery Galligan said.

While in the parks, the seniors got to manage their own time and activities. They chose all sorts of rides, restaurants, and shops they wanted to go to throughout the day.

Will Benthall said, “I definitely would recommend going on it. I became a lot closer with the senior class.”

The class trip provided a lot of bonding time whether during the bus rides or in the parks. This helped relationships grow and many new friendships form. The trip was a week packed with fun and unforgettable memories for the senior class.
