Guided by Purpose

For 30 years, NRCA has strived to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord—each step marked by faith, growth, and purpose. Like a compass pointing true north, our mission remains steady: to bear fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10). This year’s Knights Annual Fund theme, “Guided by Purpose,” reminds us that every step—past (our legacy), present (our impact), and future (our vision)—is intentional and aligned with God’s calling.

LEGACY

Three decades ago, God stirred the hearts of families to establish a school rooted in Christ. Through prayer, generosity, and unwavering faith, that vision became NRCA— a thriving community built on the gospel. Our legacy is a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the commitment of families who believe in the life-changing mission of Christian education.

IMPACT

Today, that vision is bearing fruit in the lives of nearly 1,600 current students and thousands of alumni serving Christ around the world. Every classroom, performance, competition, and mission trip is an opportunity to grow in wisdom, faith, and character. Together, our families, faculty, and friends are shaping leaders who will impact their communities for Christ. Your support helps carry the light of the gospel wherever God calls them.

VISION

As we celebrate 30 years, we look back with gratitude and forward with expectation. God continues to call NRCA to be a lighthouse in Raleigh and beyond—equipping students with the skills and character to serve Him faithfully, impacting their society for Christ. With a strong foundation and the partnership of families like yours, the best days are still ahead.

The Stell Lot: A Legacy Rooted in Love and Generosity â€‹

Just to the west of NRCA’s main campus sits a quiet piece of land with a special story. The Stell lot was once home to Leslie and Ruth Stell, faithful friends of the school and longtime supporters of Christian education.

The property’s history stretches back to 1924, when O.C. Stell purchased the original 20-acre parcel along Perry Creek. In 1958, Leslie and Ruth inherited the land and made it their home. Over the years, Mr. Stell added buildings, tended a large garden, and shared its harvest with NRCA staff. Even as the Stells’ health declined, NRCA students and staff found ways to show love—cooking meals, baking treats, delivering art projects, and visiting with care.

After Mrs. Stell’s passing in 2009 and Mr. Stell’s in 2012, the property was entrusted to six heirs, including NRCA. That generous gesture was a testament to the deep bond between the Stells and the school. Later that year, NRCA purchased the land, and by 2017, the aging structures were respectfully removed to prepare the lot for future use.

Since then, the Stell lot has served as overflow parking and a staging area for campus projects. Now, NRCA is raising funds to transform the lot into a permanent parking solution, one that honors the legacy of the Stells and continues their tradition of serving the school community.

This year’s project is more than paving a lot. It’s about cultivating the same spirit of generosity and service that defined the Stells’ lives. By transforming the land into a space that supports Christian education, we honor their legacy and invest in the future of NRCA.

Join us in paving the way—literally—for the NRCA community to thrive for generations to come.

Projects

Tuition Assistance

Through your support, more families can access a Christian education for their children at NRCA. Our Tuition Assistance Program, which receives funding from the Knights Annual Fund, helps remove financial barriers for families called to NRCA.

Stell Lot Parking Expansion

As NRCA continues to grow, we remain committed to stewarding the property the Lord has provided so we can serve our community faithfully for the next 30 years and beyond. The planned expansion of the Stell lot (located west of campus) is not simply a pathway to adjacent land—it lays the foundation for the next chapter of our school’s growth.

This project will significantly expand parking capacity for major events like Homecoming, Grandparents Academy, Open Houses, and state-level athletic competitions, while also providing permanent parking for our buses. The Stell lot expansion reflects the blessing of growth and the journey to where the Lord has us today.

Knights Stadium Facilities

This year, we continue the momentum we began last year with the renovation of our indoor locker rooms. We are now turning our attention to the original locker rooms and restrooms in the Knights Stadium complex, bringing them up to date with new fixtures, lighting, countertops, tile, and paint. These improvements will ensure a welcoming environment for our athletes, fans, and guests for years to come.
