International Mask Exchange

International Mask Exchange

Together, We Shall Beat the Virus!
Rather than succumb to boredom during quarantine, George Li, an NRCA International student, has found a way for teenagers to contribute to the evolving global crisis. Following the CDC’s recent guidance to wear a form of face coverage when out in public, George partnered with his friend in China to establish a nonprofit organization originally intended to help North Carolinians obtain face masks. International Mask Exchange collects masks from Chinese households, then delivers them to those who need it the most. It is the desire of these Chinese families to help the American people as much as they can. Today, there are 10 teens on the executive board of International Mask Exchange, mainly from the US, but others from Canada, Russia, China, and El Salvador. Nurses and families from New York, Louisiana, and other parts of the U.S. are requesting medical supplies. More than 500 people across the nation have already visited the new website, and hospitals, essential workers, and families are in need.
