NRCA Appoints Dr. Kevin Mathes As New Superintendent

Raleigh, N.C. – As we begin the 2019-2020 school year, North Raleigh Christian Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Kevin Mathes as NRCA’s Superintendent.  The Board of Governors made this unanimous decision, applauding him for his success as Interim Superintendent this past year.

Dr. Mathes has faithfully served NRCA for seventeen years in roles that include: Director of College Admissions, Testing Coordinator, Alumni Director, Assistant Secondary Principal, Middle School Principal, and Interim Superintendent.  While serving in those roles, he taught several courses, including Business Math, Computer Applications, Systematic Theology, Historical Theology, and Christ and Christianity.

He has a passion for athletics and has been a head assistant coach for Varsity Boys Basketball, Varsity Boys Soccer, and Varsity Girls Soccer.  He and his wife, Joy, also have a passion for missions and have led several NRCA mission trips to countries that include Haiti, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.

Dr. Mathes is a strong advocate for Kingdom Education. He is a product of Christian education, graduating from a Christian high school and continued his education at a Christian college.  He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Pensacola Christian College, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Pensacola Christian College, and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.

Serving on ACSI and AdvancEd accreditations teams, he has a passion for assisting Christian schools through the accreditation process.  He has served on and chaired several ACSI and AdvancEd visits. Dr. Mathes serves as a commissioner on the ACSI Regional and National Commissions on Accreditation and currently chairs the ACSI National Commission on Accreditation.

As NRCA begins its 24th year of ministry, we are blessed to have Dr. Mathes as our new Superintendent.  Please join us in praying for him as he leads the NRCA family during the 2019-2020 school year!
