A Driver Education class will be held 10 afternoons beginning Monday, May 14ththrough Friday, May 25th from 3:10 p.m. until 6:10 p.m. The State of North Carolina requires 30 hours of classroom instruction; therefore, students must attend all class dates. Please note that there will not be a makeup day at NRCA. If your child misses a session, he/she will need to make up that session at an area high school where a Driver’s Education class is being taught. Mr. Lister will have that information should you need it. There has been a$65.00 fee imposed by the State of North Carolina, but there must be a minimum of 25 students in order to have the class. Students must be 14½ by May 14, 2018, in order to take the class, so your student should have had a 14thbirthday on or before November 14, 2017. The State of North Carolina limits the class size to 45 and requires that students be accepted to the class based on age. Priority sign-up is as follows: 12thgrade: April 23rd, 11th and 12th grades:April 24th,11thgrade: April 25th, 8th-10th grades:April 26thand 27th. After these dates it becomes open enrollment and is first come, first served. Once the class is full, no applications will be accepted. You do not need to confirm whether your student has been enrolled in the class. If his/her application is accepted by Mrs. Parrish he/she is in the class.
